The Chevening is the UK Government’s global scholarship program that offers international students the unique opportunity to study in the UK. These scholarships are awarded to outstanding professionals from all over the world to pursue a one-year master’s degree in any subject at any UK university.

Chevening Uk Government Scholarship for Study in Uk Universities 2021 (Fully funded)

Chevening Scholarship is a fully-funded scholarship. This allows you the freedom to focus on achieving your academic goals and enjoying the experience of a lifetime. Candidates will live and study in the UK for a year, during this time you will develop professionally and academically. Also, grow your network, build lasting positive relationships with the UK, and experience UK culture.

Chevening Scholarship Award

The Chevening Scholarship award is made up of the following:

  • Your travel allowance to and from your country of residence by the approved route for only you.
  • Full payment of tuition fees.

On  arrival allowance you are entitled to;

  • A grant for the cost of preparation of a thesis or dissertation (if required);

An excess baggage allowance;

  • A monthly personal living allowance (stipend) to cover accommodation and living expenses. The monthly stipend will depend on whether you are studying inside or outside of London.
  • the cost of an entry clearance (visa) application for you only

Eligibility for Chevening Scholarship

To be eligible for the Chevening Scholarship there are criteria to meet up with. To qualify for a Chevening Scholarship, you must:

  • You hold a degree that is equivalent to at least a good UK second-class honors degree. Further information on UK degree equivalency can be found from UK NARIC.
  • Have an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry to a post-graduate programme at a UK university. This is typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK
  • Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country (see below to check your country’s status).
  • Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your scholarship has ended
  • Chevening Scholarships – two years’ work experience Chevening Fellowships – either five or seven years’ work experience depending on the fellowship.

However, there is no specific age for candidates to apply. Simply show that you have achieved a minimum English language requirement (see guidance note via the link below) at the time that you submit your application. Endeavor to check your country page for eligibility details relating to the specific fellowship you are applying to. The deadline for Applications close on November 3, 2020.

How to Apply for the scholarships

As you are applying for the Chevening Scholarship you need to get University admission by submitting applications to UK Universities. This can be before, or at the same time as, applying for a Chevening Scholarship. It is your responsibility to pay for any fee relating to your university applications, (including administration fees, English tests, and GMAT tests). The courses to which you apply must be:

  • A one year postgraduate Master’s course,
  • The University of Oxford Certificate in Diplomatic Studies, or
  • An approved short course (as advertised from time to time on the Chevening website and/or your local British Embassy or High Commission website).

You may be able to apply for other courses through their partner organizations. However, the following courses will not be accepted under the Chevening Scholarships program:

  • Undergraduate degrees
  • Courses with more than one month of study outside the UK
  • Courses over one year in length including PhDs or DPhil
  • Distance learning courses
  • Part-time courses
  • Supervised research not leading to a Master’s degree qualification

Chevening Scholarship Application

To get the full scholarship one has to apply on the official website at http://www.chevening.org/apply/ Also, remember you have to register on the Chevening Scholarship website to receive a notification when the Chevening site is open. When the Chevening site opens, you are expected to complete the form online and answer all questions asked on the forms. Also, check the application timeline for your country by selecting your country from the drop-down list of countries on the right side of the scholarship page. You must satisfy the requirements of the school you are applying to and be admitted in order to receive the scholarship funding. It is necessary that you must submit a list of your preferred universities as part of the Chevening scholarship. Make sure you have either applied for admission or are in the process of applying by the time you submit your application to Chevening.
