Tabless Battery Cells Will Improve Teslas’ Range

Tesla plans to produce its own tabless batteries. A battery that will improve its vehicles’ range and power. The battery will be produced in-house, which will reduce costs and bring the sale price of Tesla electric cars closer to gasoline-powered cars. Cobalt is often mined under the conditions that violate human rights, which leads to the push to find its replacement.

Moreover, there’s no given timeline on when the company will stop using cobalt, but they said it will make their battery cheaper.

The Goal of Building A $25000 Car

The company plans to reduce the cost of its battery pack and cells with the aim of building a $25.000 electric car. Musk said that Tesla will hit this goal using its new battery cells and changing the materials inside the cell and should allow the company to halve the price per kilowatt-hour.
