However, the Microsoft Edge browser is now growing with speed into popularity. According to Forbes, Edge is now ranking to the number top two and growing in popularity in the desktop browser market. Even beating the privacy-focused option Firefox.

Microsoft has just unveiled a new bunch of features that will make it a valid alternative to Google Chrome as an increasing number of people work from home.


As reported by Windows Latest, One very useful update which would be great if it comes to fruition was spotted by Windows latest in the Edge Canary developer. It is built in a new feature called “Web Capture” which allows you to take a screenshot of a Web page in full or cropped and copy it to the clipboard or preview it.

The New features of Microsoft Edge

The Windows Latest explains, that the Web Capture preview screen would allow you to share or save the image, but if Microsoft adds annotation, you would be able to draw on the screenshot and share it with your colleagues.

According to Microsoft, more new features to boost your security are expected in Edge 86, which is due to drop in the next few weeks has been confirmed. This includes new alerts for the Edge password monitor if a compromised password is detected. At the same time, Edge will add the option to show or hide the favorites bar from the favorites management page.

Edge will also add policy improvements for enterprises using the browser for various users and applications.

Recently, according to Forbes, the tech company begin to roll out Ede85 with multiple features aiming to help people that are working from home during the coronavirus pandemic. Edge Is Hoping To  Beat Chrome

Google’s Chrome browser is number one in the market with over 70% share, so it’s certainly not easy to beat. However, as many people look for a more private and secure option, lots of business and consumer users are giving Edge a try.

On the one hand, Edge is based on the same chromium-browser engine as Chrome, so it packs a lot of similar features and compatibilities. But Edge of the come under security for privacy violations,  and Microsoft’s decision to bring the browser to all Windows users has annoyed some people.

The browser wars is not showing any sign of dying down, and Edge is certainly a valid option if you are looking for a new Chrome alternative. There are other options—Firefox and Brave for example so why not give a few of them a try to see which one you prefer.
